Treatment for Alienated Children - Part 2
(The Canadian Symposium)
Audio File - AV102
This course compliments "Treatment for Alienated Children 1" and introduces new material. This course explains how our own vulnerability towards bias is used to alienate children. Made at the Canadian Symposium for Parental Alienation Syndrome in Toronto in March of 2009.
The Problem:
Human beings are inclined towards bias and have difficulty with being objective. We readily believe things that are not true and are easily influenced by others. We are wired that way, literally. Language is one contributing factor and our memories scramble things further still. Our bias can be exploited by a person who is supposed to love and protect a child and used to destroy preexisting healthy relationships.
The Solution:
There have been various attempts at treating children who have been alienated from a loving parent, and many do not work. The purpose of this presentation is to break the code of what works and why. To answer this question, we must explore the story of how Parental Alienation has been presented, from all sides of the argument. Through the telling of its history, the "inside story" and the politics of disagreements we can explore and reveal solutions for treatment.
Finally, a model or prescription for what should help children become un-alienated is offered as a practical tool.
